At the Solemn Eucharist for the Feast of Pentecost, the Church gathers to celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles, marking the birth of the Church and its mission to the world.

In this spirit of renewal and calling, candidates are confirmed into the Church of England, affirming their faith and receiving the strengthening of the Spirit through the laying on of hands. This joyful and prayerful liturgy unites Word and Sacrament, as the flames of Pentecost are reflected in the lives of those committing themselves more deeply to Christ and his Church.
