Holy Week and Easter are at the heart of the Christian story – a journey through reflection, sorrow, hope and joy. Whether you come to church every week, haven’t been for a while, or are simply curious, you are very welcome to join us as we walk this season together.
MAUNDY THURSDAY
Thursday 2nd April, 7:30pm
The Solemn Eucharist with the Washing of Feet on Maundy Thursday commemorates the institution of the Holy Eucharist and Christ’s commandment of love.
In this liturgy, the washing of feet recalls Jesus’ humble service to his disciples and calls us to serve one another in love. All are welcome to join us as we enter the mystery of Christ’s Passion.
This service will include the Procession to the Altar of Repose, and The Watch of Gethsemane until midnight.
GOOD FRIDAY
Friday 3rd April
12noon: The Preaching of The Cross
Preacher: Alan Gyle Vicar
2pm: Solemn Liturgy
The Solemn Liturgy of Good Friday draws us into the mystery of Christ’s Passion and death.
Through scripture, solemn prayer, and devotion before the Cross, the Church keeps watch at the foot of the Crucified Lord. All are welcome to join us in silence, prayer, and contemplation on this most solemn day of the Christian year.
EASTER VIGIL
Saturday 4th April, 8:30pm
The Easter Vigil is the Church’s great celebration of Christ’s resurrection.
Beginning in darkness and lit by the new fire and Paschal candle, this most holy night proclaims the victory of life over death. Through scripture, sacrament, and song, we rejoice in the risen Lord and welcome the dawn of Easter.
All are warmly invited to share in this joyful and solemn celebration.
LENT APPEAL
During Lent, we are called to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as outward signs of our inward conversion. Through our Lenten Appeal, we respond to Christ’s call to generosity, supporting the mission of the Church and the needs of those we serve. All are invited to give prayerfully and sacrificially, offering what we can as an expression of gratitude, compassion, and trust in God’s abundant grace.
This year, we are supporting Family Holiday Charity, a charity supporting families facing some of life’s toughest challenges with the chance to create life-long memories during a short, UK-based holiday.
