22-28 September 2025
Pilgrims have journeyed the Camino to Santiago de Compostela for over a thousand years, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to walk in their footsteps along the last 100km of the Camino Portugues. We will take in the beauty of the Atlantic coast and Galician countryside, before approaching the ancient city of Santiago and its great cathedral dedicated to St James the Great.
Dates and duration
We will gather in time for supper in Vigo on the evening of Monday 22nd September, and the pilgrimage will end on the afternoon of Sunday 28th September, having participated in the pilgrim Mass at Santiago cathedral. You may of course opt to arrive earlier, or arrive later should you wish to add extra days to our visit to Galicia.
Accommodation & Meals
All accommodation – in either twin or single en-suite rooms – will be in mid-range hotels and guest houses along the route. Breakfast and dinner (simple and hearty pilgrim fare!) are included each day.
What’s the daily mileage, and how hard will the walk be?!
The daily distance averages 12miles (20km) with the longest walking day taking in 15miles (25km). The route enjoys flatter terrain than the other routes to Santiago, and is considered to be manageable with some basic fitness and a few preparation walks. No part of the route is very isolated and 24-hour telephone support will be available for assistance during the Camino, such as organizing a support vehicle if required.
What will the weather be like?
The weather in Galicia during September is generally warm (low-to-mid 20s Celsius) and sunny, although being near the Atlantic coast, there is always the risk of a shower!
What about luggage?
The package includes luggage transfers between accommodation, so you’ll only need to walk with a bag containing essentials for the day.
